2024 Annual Report
Inspiring a more sustainable & equitable world through innovative products
At GreenGear®, we recognize the responsibility we all have to interact with the environment in a more sustainable way. We’re on a mission to help outdoor events & venues switch to more sustainable products. To do so, we are dedicated to creating reimagined plastic products, such as bags and ponchos, that drive positive environmental and social impact, all without compromising on price or quality.

Our Commitments
At GreenGear®, we are dedicated to creating products that drive environmental and social impact, all without compromising on price or quality. To start, we designed and sell a rain poncho made from sugarcane ethanol.
We are a certified minority, woman-owned small business and 1% for the Planet members. From day 1 of our company, more than 1% of all revenue has been donated to environmental nonprofits. In 2022, we also became Green Sports Alliance members and in 2023, we made a stronger commitment to our social and environmental performance by becoming a B Corp-certified company. Now, from 2024 onwards we have a clear framework and strong network to help us continuously improve on the five pillars of our business’s impact: Governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

Letter From CEO
To our fans, supporters, and partners:
In 2024, GreenGear continued to grow, innovate, and strengthen our commitment to sustainability. We expanded our product range, enhanced our partnerships, and deepened our social and environmental impact.
We launched two new products: a high-clarity version of our EcoShop Bag and an innovative umbrella bag, introduced with partners like the Philadelphia Eagles and CRVA. Additionally, we expanded our presence in Canada, making our products more accessible in new markets and establishing the necessary infrastructure to scale internationally.
This year also came with challenges. Rising tariffs, shifting policy landscapes, and longer-than-expected sales cycles for our bags made it more difficult to scale. Despite this, we remained focused on improving our supply chain resilience, refining our impact measurement tools, and strengthening our relationships with partners and customers. We also standardized our impact reporting, developed case studies to demonstrate our environmental benefits, and laid the groundwork for a third-party lifecycle assessment to verify our progress.
We continued our sustainability commitments by offsetting carbon emissions for shipments, expanding our nonprofit partnerships, and surpassing $13,000 in total donations to environmental causes. We also welcomed our first full-time hire, Sven Bakhuizen, who has played a key role in driving operational efficiency and impact strategy. Additionally, we invested in leadership training and skill development to support our next phase of growth, which will include more domestic production and greater control of our supply chain.
Looking ahead to 2025, we aim to scale our operations, expand our bag offerings, and further refine our impact measurement capabilities through third-party audits. We will also work toward increasing supply chain transparency, strengthening our partnerships, and enhancing our customer education efforts to drive more widespread adoption of sustainable products. We remain committed to transparency, continuous improvement, and delivering solutions that create lasting environmental and social impact.

1. This number is our total donations to date
2. Impact numbers assume our products are serving as an alternative to traditional, petroleum-based plastic options. An LCA was conducted using EcoInvent and GABI softwares, encompassing the entire value chain from raw material extraction to end-use. As any other LCA, the results of the study rely on specific parameters, methodological choices, including assumptions and limitations.
Our Impact
We use the B Impact Assessment to assess our public benefit and find areas to improve. This is based on five impact categories: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. Below, we highlight a few key sections. See the link to our full annual report for further detail.

Community
We partner with nonprofits to help better our communities. To date, we have donated over $13K, have provided volunteer hours to help nonprofit orgs., participated in speaking events, and allocated resources to provide free, online educational materials for sustainable practices.

Environment
Our products aim to protect and conserve the environment by optimizing their lifecycles. This year, we improved our products in a number of ways such as introducing clear bags and umbrella bags, which are both biodegradable for bioconsumption, made from sugarcane and produced in the USA.

Customers
We are committed to providing an exceptional and educational customer experience. We provide discounts to all nonprofits and small businesses to promote access to our products. This year, we also continued to provide robust messaging guidelines to all customers and provide them with their impact metrics if they're interested.
Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, we have ambitious goals for 2025, including:
Achieving greater environmental and social impact through >$1M in sales by targeting the sports, large event, and tourist attraction markets, along with expanding our clear bag reach.
Bring more purpose-driven jobs through a new manufacturing partnership in the United States.
Providing customers with detailed end-use impact metrics (e.g., recycling rates, CO2 emissions, plastic displaced) through mission-driven partners and a third-party audit with the Golisano Institute.
Rolling out the EcoRain® Poncho with enhanced biodegradation features.
Finalizing plans for transitioning manufacturing to support sustainable energy, with initial steps taken by the end of 2025.
